| Field notes | Cespitose understory palm. Stem 3 m tall, 2 cm in diameter; internodes 6 cm long. Leaves 7; leaf sheath closed, 31 cm long; petiole 28 cm long, margined; rachis 110 cm long; lamina pinnate; number of pinnae per side 21, regularly inserted in one single plane, basal pinna 40 cm long, middle pinna 45 cm long, apical pinna 32 cm long. Inflorescence infrafoliar, yellow; prophyll 29 cm long, 3 cm wide; peduncular bract 43 cm long, inserted 2 cm from base, green; peduncle 5 cm long, 1 cm wide; rachis 17 cm long, 1 cm wide; rachillae 30, 23-30 cm long.
