Stem 2 m long, 4.5 cm in diameter, with spines below the nodes; Number of leaves 8; sheath closed, 49 cm long; petiole 74 cm long; rachis 184 cm long; lamina pinnate, bushy; number of pinnae per side 50, inserted in groups of 1-7, basal pinna 35 cm long, middle pinna 48 cm long, apical pinna 24.5 cm long, pinnae white abaxially; sheath, petiole, rachis and pinnae with black spines.
