| Field notes | Cespitose, understory palm. Stem 0.7m long, 1cm thick. Leaves 8 per stem; sheath 15cm, closed; petiole 16cm, margined, green; rachis 8cm; lamina 32 x 29cm, entire, bifid. Inflorescence infrafoliar; prophyll 4cm long; peduncular bract 9cm long, spiny, brown, inserted 0.7cm from the base; peduncle 5cm long, 0.3cm thick; rachis branched to 1st order; rachillae 2, 2.5cm long, 0.1cm thick; flowers sessile.
