| Field notes | Cespitose palm. Stem 1.2m long, 6cm thick; spines 2.5cm long, yellow. Leaves 8 per stem; sheath 39cm, open; petiole 116cm, round, green; rachis 126cm; lamina 260 x 104cm; pinnae 19 per side, basal 47cm, middle 56cm, apical 45cm. Inflorescence interfoliar; prophyll 23cm long, 3cm thick; peduncular bract inserted 8cm from base; peduncle 31cm long, 1.3cm thick; rachis 0cm, branched to 1st order; rachillae 2, 10cm long, 0.8cm thick; flowers sessile.
