| Field notes | Cespitose understory palm. Stem 3m long; crown-crownshaft 30cm long. Leaves 8 per stem; sheath 29cm, closed; petiole 30cm, margined, green; rachis 72cm; lamina 99 x 70cm; pinnae 7 per side, basal 30cm, middle 38cm, apical 30cm. Inflorescence and infructescence infrafoliar; peduncle 6.5cm long, 1cm thick, smooth; rachis 12cm long, branched to 1st order; rachillae 25, 27cm long, 0.3cm thick; flowers and fruits sessile.
