| Field notes | Erect undestory palm. Stem 2m long, 1.5 thick. Leaves 6 per stem; sheath 17cm, closed; petiole 27cm, green; rachis 38cm; lamina 62 x 32cm, hairy below; pinnae 5 per side, basal 22cm, middle 22cm, apical 24cm. Infructescence infrafoliar; prophyll 6cm long; peduncular bract 12cm long, spiny, brown, inserted at the base; peduncle 5cm long, 0.5cm thick, spiny; rachis 0cm, branched to 1st order; rachillae 2, 5cm long, 0.3cm thick.
