| Field notes | Solitary palm tree. Stiltroots 18, 67cm long, 6cm thick. Stem 10m long, 11cm thick, crown-crownshaft 105cm long. Leaves 8 per stem; sheath 15cm, closed; petiole 35cm, round, green; rachis 238cm; lamina 257 x 175cm; pinnae 15 per side, basal 35cm, middle 86cm, apical 37cm. Inflorescence infrafoliar; prophyll 8cm long; peduncular bract 26cm long, reddish, inserted at the base; peduncle 14cm long, 3cm thick, smooth; rachis 8cm long, branched to 1st order; rachillae 8, 35cm long, 1.5cm thick; flowers sessile. Transect HB340-SU26. |
