| Field notes | Palm tree. Stiltroots 20, 90cm long, 4.5cm thick. Stem 8m long, 10cm thick; crownshaft 110cm long. Leaves 8 per stem; sheath closed; petiole 60cm, round, green; rachis 230cm; lamina 250 x 150cm; pinnae 15 per side, middle 75cm, apical 30cm. Inflorescence infrafoliar; prophyll 4cm long; peduncular bract 11cm long, brown, inserted at the base; peduncle 12cm long, 3cm thick, smooth; rachis 5cm long, branched to 1st order; rachillae 20cm long, 1cm thick; flowers sessile. Transect HB339-SU15. |
