| Field notes | Solitary palm. Roots 100, 14cm long, 0.2cm thick. Stem 0.7m long, 5cm thick; spines 5cm long, black. Leaves 12 per stem; sheath 38cm, open; petiole 127cm, round, green-brown; rachis 136cm; lamina 168 x 98cm; pinnae 16 per side, basal 49cm, middle 49cm, apical 37cm. Inflorescence interfoliar; prophyll 9cm; peduncular bract 29cm, soft, brown, with small spines, inserted at the base; peduncle 18cm long, 0.9cm thick; rachis 5cm long, branched to 1st order; rachillae 12, 5cm long, 0.2cm thick.
