| Field notes | Understory palm. Stem 2m long, 1.5cm thick; spines 2cm long, flat, dark-brown. Leaves 9 per stem; sheath 17cm, open; petiole 77cm, round, green; rachis 39cm; lamina 61 x 52cm; pinnae 5 per side, basal 33cm, middle 27cm, apical 30cm. Inflorescence interfoliar; prophyll 8cm long; peduncular bract 23cm long, soft-spiny, brown, inserted at the base; peduncle 17cm long, 0.4cm thick; rachis 0.6cm long, branched to 1st order; rachillae 5, 5.5cm long, 0.2cm thick.
