| Field notes | Understory palm. Roots 20, 17cm long, 0.4cm thick. Stem 3.5m long, 1.5cm thick; crownshaft 20cm long. Leaves 5 per stem; sheath 24cm, closed; petiole 42cm, round, brown; rachis 59cm; lamina 66 x 46cm; pinnae 6 per side, basal 19cm, middle 29cm, apical 15cm. Infructescence infrafoliar; peduncular bract 15cm long, soft, brown, inserted at the base; peduncle 29cm long, 0.6cm thick, smooth; rachis 6cm long, branched to 1st order; rachillae 9, 21cm long, 0.2cm thick; fruits sessile.
