| Field notes | Cespitose palm. Stem 1.5m long. Leaf-sheath 15cm, closed; petiole 17cm, green; rachis 24cm; lamina 42 x 35cm; pinnae 3 per side, hairy, basal 21cm, middle 19cm, apical 27cm. Inflorescence infrafoliar; prophyll 4cm long; peduncular bract 10cm long, spiny, brown, inserted at the base; peduncle 5cm long, 0.5cm thick, spiny; rachis 0.5cm long, branched to 1st order; rachillae 4, 4cm long; flowers sessile.
