| Field notes | Cespitose understory palm. Stem 5m long, 5cm thick, spines. Petiole 115cm, brown; rachis 165cm; lamina 194 x 80cm; pinnae 28 per side, basal 38cm, middle 48cm, apical 34cm. Inflorescence interfoliar; prophyll 17cm, 5cm wide; peduncular bract 40cm long, woody, dark brown, inserted 11cm from base, spiny; peduncle 22cm long, 4.5cm thick, spiny; rachis 12cm long, branched to 1st order; rachillae 14cm, 0.1cm thick; flowers sessile.
