| Field notes | Loose stands in floor of open understory w. tall stemmed trees. Stems to 5-8 m tall, 3-4 cm diam., ringed w. spines. Lvs 4-6 per stem, erect, armed w. heavy, yellow spines, particularly on sheath and petiole. One old, dry inflorescence. Blade 150x70 cm, w. 16 pinnae per side in 5 groups. (AAU+AMAZ) |
