| Field notes | Cespitose, stem to 1.8 m, 2 cm diam. Leaf spines flattened, light brown, black proximal and at apex, to 1.8 cm. Sheath 15 cm; petiole 65 cm; rachis 74 cm; pinnae 12 per side, middle ones 28x4.5 cm, filamentous, inserted in groups, spreading in different planes. Prophyll 9.5 cm; peduncular bract 27 cm; peduncle 15 cm; rachillae 8, to 2 mm diam. Fruit rostrate. Rachis 1.5 cm. Peduncle, rachis and rachillae brown tomentose |
