| Field notes | Solitary (but others seen cespilose). Stem ca 1 m tall, 4 cm diam, with rings of spines. Leaves 10, spreading. Inflorescence old and rotting, erect, interfoliar, in axil of one of the uppermost leaves. This palm is very scarce here (as else where) and of the few individuals found only this one any fertile material attached to it. This coincides with my previous observations in which this species is always very infrequent and very rarely fertile. The collection includes one whole leaf and an old inflorescence. |
