| Field notes | Bactris concinna/martiana. dense stands in Mauritia swamp behind (east of) the village. Stems 2-3 m tall, 3 cm in diam, spiny. Lvs. 4-5, sheath 30 cm; ochrea fibrous; petiole 40 cm with long spines, blade 110 x 80 cm pinnae 32 pr. side, lamina flat. Infructescence peduncle 20 cm long, rachillae 2, 5 cm long, with green ovoid fruits, N.v. chundilla (Quechua); mature fruits edible fresh. |
