| Field notes | Stem solitary, 5 m tall, 6 cm diam. Lvs. 8, sheaths ca 75 cm long, petiole 60 cm long, flattened above, with sharp margins, rachis 2460 cm, pinnae 47 per side, regularly arranged, horisontal, infructescence intrafoliar, peduncle 52 cm, rachis 68 cm, rachillae 82, up to 54 cm long. Common name Kingimí in Shuar. Palm heart edible. Between "El Jordan" and "Río Tsuantsi", 950 m elevation. Only seen at one spot during 4 days walking between "18 de Febrero" and Untsuants. |
