| Field notes | Km 88. Stem 10 m x 7-10 cm smooth, solitary. Lvs. ca 10 spreading. Sheath 50-60 cm, closed, distally ligular or splitting into a fibrous net. Petiole 30 cm x 3 cm, rounded below, flat above with sharp margins. Blade 280 cm long, pinnate, rachis flat above rounded below, flat margins where pinnae are inserted, furfuraceous. Pinnae ca 110/side, to 80 cm long plicate, dark green with prominent midvein and reticulate crossvenation between secondary longitudinal veins. Infructescence 4 with green fruits 1 x banched. Long peduncle bending out of leaf axils and apical part druping. |
