Field notes Solitary. Stem 6 m tall, 10 cm in diam at base, greyish-brown, cylindrical. Leaves 12, laxly arranged in a globose crown; sheath 77 cm long, 27 cm wide at base, brown, 15 apical cm appearing like a petiole, 5.5 cm wide at apex; petiole 21-33 cm long, 3.5- 4 cm wide at apex, green, adaxially flattened, slightly raised centrally, margins acute; rachis 118 cm long, arched, adaxially flattened for 48-50 cm ending in a hastula, acute thereafter, green with light brown indumentum, abaxially convex to flattened; pinnae 57-59 on each side, regularly disposed, somewhat erect, the 5-7 apical pinnae marginally united toward the apex, all pinnae whitish below. Infructescence 5 in the same stage, interfoliar, erect; prophyll 43-46 cm long, 10 cm wide at midlle; peduncualr bracts 6, the first 5 inserted along 45 basal cm of peduncle, the longest one 164 cm long, the 6th bract inserted 90 cm above peduncle base; peduncle 106-129 cm long 2 cm wide at apex, with brown indument; rachis 68 cm long, green like rachillae; rachillae 46, the longest 38 cm long, inserted near the middle of the rachis, branched, the last branches of 3rd order. Ripe fruits reddish-orange, globose, ca. 2 cm in diam, somewhat bright.
