| Field notes | Cultivated ornamental. Stem solitary, to 1.75 m tall, 15 cm diam. at base, narrowing to the top. Leaves 8-10, sheath 75 cm long, light green, forming a conspicuous crownshaft, petiole ca. 10 cm long, rachis 174 cm long, curved towards the apex, pinnae 72 per side, in groups of 1-2 inserted of different angles but always erect. Inflorescence infrafoliar, inmatured fruits green, mature fruits bright red with green calyx. |
