Field notes Solitary understory palm. 1 m tall. Stem 220 cm long, for 170 cm creeping basal 50 cm with adventitious roots at each node. Diam of stem 1.3 cm. Number of internodes 26, 3.5 - 5.5 cm long. Stem green with brown, pronounced nodes. Number of 3 and l juvenile. Leafsheath 17 cm long, encircling the stem for 15 cm thus forming crownshaft. Crownshaft light green slightly striped, longest diam 1.5 cm. Petiole 20 cm long, straight concave round just below pinnae 0.6 cm diam. Rachis 47.5 cm long. Number of pinnae 2 x 5, regularly distributed, alternate, slightly erect. Pinnae falcate, thin green. Basal pinnae 15.5 x 5.5 cm, middle pinnae 18.5 x 7.5 cm, apical pinnae 17 x 7.5 cm. Inflorescence: 1 bud at the 1st and 2nd node below the crownshaft, 1 inflorescence at 3rd node below. Prophyll deciduous. Number of peduncullar bracts 4, inserted 0.6- 2.5 - 6.5 - 18.0 cm above the base of peduncle, 28 cm long, ovate, green. Rachis 0.5 cm long. Number of rachillae 3, 11- 11.5 cm long. Rachis, rachillae, flowers green. Chromosome material # 26.
