| Field notes | Solitary. Trunk 8 m tall, 14 cm in diam, supported by a 25 cm tall cone of stiltroots, roots with strongly sharp spines. Leaves 6, sheath 150 cm long, forming a light purple crownshaft. Petiole 23-45 cm long, cylindrical, green. Rachis 254 cm long, pinnae 32, undivided, arched, pendulous. Inflorescence infrafoliar, 15-14 at each node. Buds green with purple hairs. Peduncle 28 cm long. Rachis 21 cm long. Immature fruits green, yellow when ripe. |
