| Field notes | Solitary. Stem up to 2 m tall, 2 cm in diam, with black acicular spines to 3 cm long, loosely arranged in circles around the stem. Leaves 3 - 4 arranged in several planes. Rachis 80 cm (almost complete with a few centimeters lacking - lost). Pinnae 17 per side, arranged in group of 2 - 3 in several planes, strongly plicate. Inflorescence interfoliar, peduncular bract, green. Peduncle very long at fruiting. Unicate: AAU. |
