| Field notes | Cespitose in swampy area along stream. Stem to 4 m tall, spineless, irregular ca. 13 cm thick. Leaves many, erect, glossy green above, silvery white below. Inflorescence erect among leaves, peduncle more than 1 m long, fruits congested in a clump 30 cm long, 15 cm thick, peduncular bract persistent. |
