| Field notes | Stem solitary, erect, 2.75 m tall, 6 cm diam. at base, 5.5 cm at apex, with nodes 7 -14 cm apart. Leaves 5; sheaths forming a distinct green crownshaft 83 cm long; petiole 26 cm;rachis 150 cm; pinnae 27 per side, lower one 12 x 2.5 cm, middle one 62 x 9 cm, apical one 26 x 7 cm. Inflorescences 13 17 per node, erect in bud and at anthesis; peduncle 22 x 1 cm; rachis 10 cm; rachillae 38, 5 6 cm long; one prophyll and 4 peduncular bracts. |
