| Field notes | Stem solitary, erect, 10 m tall, 12 cm diam., supported by very short stiltroots. Leaves 3; crownshaft 1.8 m, greyish-green; petiole absent, rachis 265 cm long; pinnae pendulous, in one plane, 46 per side, basal one 55 x 6 cm, middle one 93 x 8 cm, apical one 17 x 9 cm. Inflorescences infrafoliar, 4 or 5 per node (if 5 middle one is female), male inflorescence with peduncle 19 x 2 cm with prophyll and 4 bracts, 2 tubular, 2 split abaxially; prophyll 6 x 3 cm, lst bract 4 cm, 2nd 9 cm, 3rd 29 cm, 4th 27. |
