| Field notes | Stem solitary, erect, 5 m tall, 4 cm diam., green, with prominent nodes 13 cm apart. Leaves 5; sheaths forming a 50 cm dark green shaft; sheaths 60 cm; petiole 33 cm, grooved above, green; rachis 190 cm long; pinnae 19 per side, sigmoid, all in one plane, erectly spaced, equal, lower one 55 x 6 cm, middle one 80 x 11 cm, apical one 35 x 11 cm. Infructescences infrafoliar, solitary at nodes; peduncle 47 cm long, flattened; prophyll and 4 peduncular bracts; rachis 13 cm long; rachillae 14, 9 -12 cm long, immature fruits asymmetrical 2.5 x 2 cm, green. |
