| Field notes | Stem solitary, erect, 11 m tall, ca. 10 cm diam. at base, 7 cm diam. at apex, smooth. Leaves 18; sheath open, 20 cm long, petiole 46 cm long, 2 - 4 cm diam., round below, channelled above; rachis 150 cm, pinnae 12 per side, all in one plane, subequal, lower one 52 x 8 cm, middle one 68 x 16 cm, apical one 55 x 10 cm. Inflorescences inter-foliar, erect with rachillae pendulous; peduncle 72 x 2 cm, flattened, light brown; prophyll 62 x 6 cm, brown; peduncular bract inserted 4 cm above base, 59 x 4-5 cm, same brown color; rachis 7 cm long; rachillae 7, 51 - 53 cm long, 9 mm diam. |
