| Field notes | Stem solitary, erect, grey, with scattered lenticels (?), 18 m tall, 13 cm diam. at base, 10 cm diam. at apex, nodes 8 - 9 cm apart at base, supported by a loose cone af ca. 30 spiny stilt roots 135 x 3,5 - 4 cm. Leaves 6; persistent and hanging down around infructescences; sheaths forming a distinct crownshaft 150 cm long, grey-green; petiole 25 x 3 cm; rachis 215 cm long; pinnae 27 per side, lower one 27 x 6 cm, middle one 110 x 9 cm, apical one 41 x 26 cm. Inflorescence buds 1 or 2 per node, within sheaths buds were 1-1-2-1-1-2, and below sheath a node with 2 buds were male and female and another node had female and female. |
