| Field notes | Stem solitary, 4 m tall, 5 cm diam., green, smooth, nodes at top 2 - 3 cm apart. Leaves 6; sheaths forming a distinct green crownshaft 56 cm long; petiole 15 cm, channelled above, rounded below; rachis 132 cm long; pinnae 21 per side, evenly spaced and in one plane, the lower 41 x 2 cm, the middle 59 x 6 cm, the apical 36 x 9 cm. Inflorescence buds 8 per node; peduncle 26 cm long with prophyll and 4 bracts; rachis 9 cm, rachillae 21, 4 - 6 cm long. |
