Field notes Stem solitary, erect, 5 m tall, 15 cm in diam., smooth, grey. Leaves ca. 12; sheaths forming a short indistinct crownshaft; petiole 80 cm long, 7 cm in diam. at middle, channeled above, round below with sharp margins; rachis 250 cm long; pinnae 98 per side, basal one 52 x 0.5 cm, middle 72 x 3 cm, apical one 38 x 1 cm (apical 8 pinnae joined at their apices), evenly spaced and all in one plane. Inflorescence interfoliar, staminate, pendulous at anthesis; rachis 84 cm long; primary branches 65 with 10-30 rachillae, all parts creamy-white. Many Ceroxylon of this species at staminate anthesis in this area.
