| Field notes | Solitary, stem less than 30 cm. Leaves c. 6 in sprea- ding rosette; rachis 80 cm, covered with fine brown spines; Pinnae 10 per side in groups of two. Sterile. The Sionas say the inflorescence is above the leaves and erect and that the plant grows to 4 m high. N. v. Ora-mio (Victoriano Criollo). Uses. Medicinal, palmhart boiled in water and drunk for body pains. |
