| Field notes | Stilt-roots 26, up to 4 m long, 6 cm diam, brown turning dark brown, covered with short spines, whole cone approx. 3 m tall, some roots branching above ground level. Ends of young growing roots covered with fibrous root cap, and with fibrous covering, round in cross-section. Trunk 10 m tall, 12 cm diam, solitary. Leaves 7; sheaths forming a crown shaft 130 cm long, with waxy covering, inner one bluish green; petiole 21 cm long, 4.2 cm thick, round, with brown tomentum; rachis 185 cm long, round below, triangular and ribbed above, longitudinally striate, with brown tomentum; pinnae 23 per side, divided into (from base)1-3-5-6-6-7-9-9-10-10-8-8-8-7- 6-5-5-4-4-3-1-1-1 segments, the segments bent over at apex but not distinctly arching. Infructescence infrafoliar, pendulous; peduncle with remains of prophyll and 2 peduncular bracts; peduncle 23 cm long, 4 cm diam, at middle, green; rachis 20 cm long, rachillae 10, green, 1 cm diam at middle; fruits immature, green, rostrate.
