| Field notes | Stem 8 m tall, 11 cm diam. at base and at apex, supported by 1.5 m cone of brown spiny stilt-roots. Crown shaft 150 cm, greyish green. Leaves 6. Petiole 24 cm. Rachis 188 cm with 19 pinnae per side, divided into (from base) 1, 1, 4, 5, 5, 5, 6, 5, 6, 7, 6, 5, 5, 8, 4, 4, 2, 1, 1, 1 segments. Proximal segments erect and arching. Inflorescence with staminate flowers just fallen, white, with bracts still on peduncle, second inflorescence bud removed from crown-shaft. Duplicates: AAU, K, NY, QCA, QCNE. |
