Field notes Solitary. Stem 1 m tall, 4-5 cm in diam., brown, internodes 3-5 cm. Leaves 8, petiole 80-100 cm, rachis 80-100 cm, blade with 4-7 segments on each side, segments unevenly wide with 1-23 primary nerves, falcate. Inflorescence infrafoliar, red, with persistent prophyll, 15 cm, peduncular bract caducuos, peduncle c. 30 cm, red; rachis c. 30 cm, red, rachillae 11, lower one with 5 branches, next ones with 4, 3, 2, 2, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1 branches, rachillae contorted within bud.
