| Field notes | Solitary. Stem 2-2.5 m tall, 4.5-6 cm diam., bending. Leaves 7, spreading; sheath 37 cm, margins fibrous; petiole 31 cm; rachis 78 cm; blade 120 x 40 cm, pinnae 2 x 12, each with 1-9 ribs. Inflorescence infrafoliar, protandrous, first green, then reddish. Flowers visit- ed by curculionid beatles, bees and Staphylinidae. |
