Field notes See enclosed note. . Solitary treelet, 2 m tall. Trunk 70 cm tall, 3-4 cm in diam., ascending, with densely inserted annular leaf-scars, light brown, overgrown with mosses. Crown of 9 erect and spreading leaves, sheath very short; petiole 30-40 cm long; blade with 2 x 13-22 pinnae, regularly inserted. Inflorescence in axil of lower leaves, erect, simple spicate, 23-150 cm long, 1 cm thick, sparsely pubescent or puberulent when young. Terra firme, red soil. A later collection of this same species had the inflorescence up to 150 cm long, and was otherwise of larger dimensions. Duplicates: AAU, K, NY, QCA.
