Field notes A caespitose, 8-stemmed treelet, up to 8 m tall. Stems erect or bending and ascending, 2.5 cm in diam., green, with obvious annular leaf-scars, nodes varying from 2 cm to 12 cm in length. Crown of 11 erect and spreading leaves; petiole 80 cm; blade 140 x 70 cm with 2 x 17 pinnae regularly inserted. Inflorescence below the leaves, with 2 scars from prophyll and bract, peduncle 10-14 x 1-2 cm, rachis 10-14 x 1 cm, strongly orange coloured, 3 x branched, fruits evenly distributed along the branches, green.
