Field notes Secoya: "Lutawe-ócó", "Lutahue-ócó" ??. Clumps of several individuals, sometimes spronting from the base, stem fingerthick, to 2 or 3 m tall, inflorescence infrafoliar, yellow and red. Uses: The planthart is chewed to color the teeth and the lips so that one will look good. Dosn´t work to protect the teeth.
