Field notes "Quichua: ""Istipa-muyu"". Shrub to 2 m tall, flowers yellow. Cultivated in gardens for the seed which are given to captured birds to prevent constipation. PT: to give to chicken that can´t shit. To people who can´t shit or pis, the seeds are pounded and cooked in water. Laxative."
