| Field notes | Siona: "Ñucua-ëné". Spanish: "Chontilla" and "Chontilla blanca". A small solitary treelet. Trunk 2-3 cm in diam, to 3 m high. Crown of 4-5 leaves, with green sheaths. Inflorescences below the leaves or in the axils of the lowest 1-2 leaves, branches and fruits first green then strongly orange, fruits eventually turning black. |
