| Field notes | Siona: "Nico". Spanish: "Bonbon" and "Rayador". A solitary tree growing on terra firme along the river, the base with 10 adventitious roots lifting the trunk above ground, each root brown, to 6 cm in diam, with spines with white bases, the longest root about 200 cm long. Trunk brown, smooth, 8.5 m high, 12 cm in diam at the base, 8 cm in diam below the crownshaft; nodes not visible at the base, 1-4 cm wide near the top and separated by 4-6 cm long internodes. Crownshaft 130 cm long, 9 cm in diam, green. Crown of 7 spreading leaves; petiole 25 cm long, 3 cm in diam, slightly channeled at the base, round below the blade; blade 300 x 160 cm with 13 pinnae on each side. Inflorescences inserted 3 nodes below the crownshaft; peduncle 27 cm long with 7 scars but without persistent spathes; 9 branches, the longest to 30 cm long, no secondary branching; fruits green.
