| Field notes | A solitary tree on riverbank on terra firme. The base with 18 brown, spiny adventitious roots, each about 8 cm in diameter, the longest about 4 m long. The trunk about 15 cm in diam at the base, 9 cm in diam below the crown smooth, grey, internodes about 1 cm long below the crown. Crownshaft 110 cm long. Crown of ca 6 leaves, petiole 25 cm long, 3 cm diam, round in cross section; blade 160 x 100 cm with 16 pinnae on each side. Inflorescences 2, inserted at 3rd and 5th node below the crown; peduncle 17 cm long with 6 leafscars; rachis 18 cm long; branches to 40 cm long, no secondary branching; fruits brown, cracked, 1.8 x 2.3 cm.
