| Field notes | Siona: "Ini-bue". Spanish: "Huasai". Solitary tree in swamp with Mauritia flexuosa and Jessenia sp. (4310). The base growing in a low cone of innumerable adventitious roots, the cone 90 cm wide and 60 cm high; each root about 1 cm in diam, first red then turning brown, smooth. The trunk 16 m high, 18 cm diam at the base, 11 cm diam apically, smooth, grey, basal internodes 16 cm long, apical ones 1-4 cm long. Crown of 18 spreading leaves on a 140 cm long crownshaft, the blade ascending and with the dropping, and all the pinnae hanging down. Leaves with a closed sheath 140 cm long, green with light longitudinal stripes; the petiole 40 cm long, 3.5 cm wide, the blade 360 x 180 cm with 96 pinnae on each side. Inflorescences 3, inserted below the crownshaft, rachis pointing slightly upwards, the fruitladen? branches hanging down; the base with grasping 11 cm wide part, peduncle 14 cm long, rachis 94 cm long, branches about 200, the longest to 55 cm long, fruits green with 1 m thick pericarp and white endosperm.
