| Field notes | A solitary tree in cut over forest. Base with dense cover of red to orange advertition roots, each ca 4 mm in diam. Trunk ascending, 310 cm tall, 7 cm diam at the base, 5.5 cm diam at the top, brown, smooth. Crown of ca 10 leaves. Leafsheats open to the base 40 cm long; petioles 70 cm long; blade 170 x 130 cm, pinnately divided with 22 pinnae on each side, pinnae not equally wide. Inflorescence inserted immediately below the crown, pointing downwards; peduncle 30 cm long; rachis 55 cm long; inflorescence 3 x divided, 80 cm wide, with 13 first order branches; lowest 1st order branch with 9 2nd order branches. No uses or local names noted. |
