| Field notes | (Prestoea sp.). Clumps of 2-3 trees on steep ?????? slopes towards river. Base with loose cover of reddish-orange adventitios roots, each ca 1 cm diam. Trunk 6 m tall, 6.5 cm in diam, brown, smooth with leafscars 10 cm apart. Crown of ca 10 spreading leaves, each with ca 60 cm long sheathing base, 50 cm petiole; blade 200 x 130 cm, pinnately divided in 49 pinnaes on each side. Inflorescences three, below ????? leaves, in various sta??? of maturation; rachis and branches pink turning red. Fruits turning green. Peduncle 60 cm long; rachis 50 cm long, with 66 1st order branches, no 2nd order branching. Old spathe inserted on the peduncle ???? from base. |
