Trunk erect or ascending, 250 cm high, 6 cm in diam throughout, castaneous, ???? so apically, smooth with leafscars evenly ??aced at 10 cm intervals. Crown of 12 leaves, each with a 45 cm long, castaneous sheath, forming a crownshaft; petiole 5 cm long; blade 190 x 180 cm with 42 pinnae on each side. Young, unespanded inflorescence inserted just below crown, erect. Uses: According to unknown local bypasser?, the hart? of this palm is eaten. |
