| Field notes | Terra firme. Small tree. Trunk without any proproots basally, 3 m tall and 3 cm in diam, transversally scarred and irregularly uneven. Crown of 13 fronds; which are basally erect and upwards gradually spreading; sheathing base 30 cm long; petiole 35 cm; blade 160 x 80 cm, pinnaetely divided, with app. 16 uneven pinnae on each side of the rachis. Inflorescence inserted immediately below the crown, with one old leafbase loosely sheathing the peduncle; rachis and branches red; fruits green. |
