| Field notes | Quichua: Yahuarhuiqui. Slender tree to 8 m tall (but reaches 30 m and 60 cm trunk diam) in somewhat disturbed forest behind native house. Sap red as blood. Uses: Against burns and woonds and diarrhoea and ulcer. Preparation: For burns and woonds the sap is simply applied to the affected place. For Ulcer one bottle of wine is mixed with 1/2 cup of the sap and drunk. For diarrhoea the sap is mixed with water and drunk. |
